What Our Customers Say
Thank you to everyone who took the time to share your experience with us!
I love San Ramon for many, many reasons, schools, parks, trails, etc, but did I ever mention how much I love Windmill Farm Produce, a place where you can find fresh fruits and veggies with bargain prices? It’s located on San Ramon Valley Blvd across from In-N-Out Burger San Ramon. I shop most of my fruits and vegetables at Windmill Farms, it’s one of the greatest San Ramon’s originals, a Farmer’s Market every day! Everything is sparkling fresh, people are very warm and sweet. Windmill Farms is a family owned and operated local business for many years. If you shop there once, you’ll be hooked. Who doesn’t love fresh produce? If you haven’t been to Windmill Farm Produce, go check it out! You’ll fall in love with it just like I did.
AWESOME place for getting juicing supplies! I’ve only been here twice, but you just can’t go wrong with the pricing. I’m an avid Whole Foods shopper because it’s just so close to my house. However, I found that Windmill Farms has a variety of organic as well as conventional produce all mixed together. They do have an Organic section inside, in the same section as the wine. It’s pretty easy to navigate around the store, as far as finding what you need. You will for sure end up buying something that you didn’t go there for. Good pricing and HEY you’re there already, so why not? I’m actually making my way down there after work today to pick up more juicing supplies 🙂
I stopped by Windmill Farms this week, 5-15-15, when I noticed that fresh homemade pies were there; I bought two, one cherry and one nectarine. Have not opened the nectarine but we have started on the cherry. The pie is wonderful; thick crust and very tasty filling. The cost per pie was $12.99. We had the second pie on Sunday, 5-17-15, the nectarine, and it, too, was very good. Not sweet nor tart but it was just right in taste.
My mom has been coming here since I was a little kid. I have fond memories of looking through the bulk foods and being outside while grocery shopping. It makes me very happy that they have managed to stay in business for at least 25 years. I’ve gone here with my mom a couple of times as an adult who appreciates good food, and still really like the place. They have a great variety of foods and great prices. I’m thrilled that they sell local produce and get people out of Safeway and Albertsons and into real, healthy food.

Great produce! Best corn I’ve ever had! There is an organic section with spices and other products. The produce is great. Staff are courteous. Around fall/Halloween they have chickens, pigs and goats for sale and bouncy houses for the kids. And a huge assortment of pumpkins!
Great local market for fresh fruits and veggies – super affordable, and I’d much rather support them than the big chains! They also have yummy looking pies, and a good selection of nuts, trail mixes, etc.
Fresh produce, great prices and a very friendly and helpful crew. For Halloween they had a pumpkin patch and bunch of animals for kids to pet. Overall, I can’t find a reason to give this fine establishment anything less than 5 stars.
I’ve been driving out from Castro Valley to Windmill Farms for years. The fruits and vegetables are some of the best around. The prices are more than reasonable with some things (like a basket of strawberries for 99 cent) down right cheap. They have an amazing assortment of produce, including some organic. They also sell breads, frozen pies, drinks crackers, snacks and some dairy type items in their small refrigerated section. In the fall, they sell pumpkins and gourds. I LOVE their pumpkin selection and the prices are reasonable.
I moved to San Ramon in 1990 and started a young family. EVERY year we bought a Christmas tree from the Windmill Farms lot. The trees have always been fresh and affordable! The food…best vegetables to purchase outside of Whole Foods or farmers market on Saturdays in Danville. I’m glad the county was unsuccessful in their attempts to close them down and back door sell property to someone interested in profiting. The community came together! Keep up the good work!
This place is an excellent find in the San Ramon area, and a good alternative to the whole foods just down the road. They have a decent selection of locally sourced ingredients, but don’t come here expecting to find anything too out there. They have great prices, great service, and take credit card. They have the same quality as whole foods, but they’re cheaper and you’re supporting some local farms, what more would you ask for? Come here for the produce, and stop by to visit the eggs and frozen gelato hiding in the back, you won’t regret it.
I am so happy that this place exists! I am happy because I have seen prices that are either competitive or flat out BEAT standard supermarkets on in-season produce items. I like that most of the market is outdoors. I enjoy the refrigerated organic section. To top it all off they have decorated for fall with bales of hay, scarecrows, etc. I have been pleased by the quality of the produce I have purchased from here. I am looking forward to being a regular customer.
I love the fruits and vegetables here. Lots of variety, seasonal and some exotic fruits I can’t find in big-box supermarkets. Competitive prices. I love that my money is also helping out local farmers in my community (which is what I grew up doing in Chico, CA). I’m a bit sad that I haven’t shopped here sooner since it’s right off the highway, and on the way home to my house. I like its open-air area and it refrigerated areas.
Love this place, super cute little produce stand, has lots of different veggies and fruit. They have fresh items, and great selection, and a pumpkin patch around October too! There is a section of all organic items and vegetables. Plenty of parking, accepts credit card, have local honeys, small little area to sit at if you want to enjoy your fruits and veggies right then and there. Just a super cool little place!
